Metro Police K-9 Foundation

The Fox Valley Metro Police Department is working towards building a K-9 program. Our goal is to have our very first police dog by summer of 2021.

A non-profit, K-9 foundation has been established to raise funds for the program. They have a social media page via Facebook.

The Fox Valley Metro Police Department has been authorized to start a canine (K-9) police dog program. Both the Village of Little Chute and Village of Kimberly Board of Trustees recently voted to support the creation and implementation of this new program.

Funding for this program will come from donations and fundraising efforts. In order to accomplish our funding goals, we are creating a 501 (c) (3) type, non-profit foundation. The foundation would organize events and lead the fundraising efforts for the program.

We are seeking community partners to be a part of this foundation. Individuals who live or work in Little Chute or Kimberly are encouraged to be members of this organization. We feel that community stakeholders would make excellent foundation board members.

If you have experience in any of the following areas, we encourage you to consider being a part of this organization:

- Non-profit organizational experience

- Fundraising experience

- Volunteer experience

- Events coordinator experience

The goal is to have a foundation board comprised of six to eight community stakeholders from both Little Chute and Kimberly.

Board member responsibilities include:

- Attending board meetings as scheduled or needed.

- Planning community events to support the K-9 program

- Attending events and fundraisers

- Maintaining the financials of the foundation

- Working collaboratively with police department staff to make this program a sustainable success

The foundation will be guided by a set of by-laws designed to provide the board with guidance on its goals and overall operations.

If you know that you could be a positive, contributing member of this community organization, please contact the Fox Valley Metro Police Department Chief of Police- Dan Meister.
